Thornbury Golf & Lodge’s Junior section provides an ideal environment for nurturing young players, whether they are new to the game or aspiring elite performers.
With state-of-the-art facilities and a passionate coaching team, we strive to create a positive and enriching experience for young golfers.
Our Junior Membership is a brilliant cost-effective way for kids to start or continue their passion for golf!
Playing Golf comes with a host of benefits for juniors, be it a way of getting the younger generation out into the fresh air, or even just an opportunity for them to socialise with friends.
By playing golf, juniors can improve their health, strength, coordination, and flexibility!
Golf instils important values and character traits in juniors. It teaches patience, perseverance, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Golf provides opportunities for juniors to socialise and build relationships with their peers, coaches, and fellow golfers.
Golf requires strategic thinking and mental focus. Juniors learn to analyse situations, make decisions, and adapt their game accordingly.
Golf teaches valuable life skills that extend beyond the course such as goal-setting, time management, and the importance of practice and self-improvement!
Lessons are great fun and are delivered through our recognised coaching programme. All ages welcome from 5-15 years old. All equipment supplied plus our teaching staff are all DBS checked.
Capture monsters, slay dragons and transport into a parallel universe on one of the immersive games, designed for kids but a challenge for all the family.
That’s not all, they can learn new skills on practice mode, play a fun round of golf or even take part in competitions, there really is plenty for kids to enjoy on our Trackman driving range!
Head Professional at Thornbury since July 2014, Jon has 25 years’ teaching experience gained at various clubs in the South West of England and Wales. During this time he has helped thousands of golfers to advance their game.
Jons’ coaching methods are simple, effective and easy to understand, and they aim to create a relaxed atmosphere. Pupils can enjoy their coaching experience and reach their full golfing potential. He is just as excited about coaching new beginners as Elite players and looks forward to meeting you on our driving range very soon..
Nathan finished an amateur career at the age of 19 off a handicap of +1, having played for the country & various national events such as the British Boys, with some of the games current superstars. His focus switched from playing the game for a living to giving back his experience to inspiring golfers.
After starting his career at Weston-Super-Mare GC coaching juniors, beginners & custom fitting, Nathan now continues his training at Thornbury GC and is available for custom fitting, junior, individual group & on course coaching.
